San Antonio's world famous Riverwalk or "Paseo del Rio" is located in the heart of San Antonio and  lined with lush gardens and quaint shopping.  In Texas, water has been a lifeline and the San Antonio River is the city's treasure. As such, The River Walk is the park of the city and the epicenter for many city events.  Rio San Antonio Cruises offers river tours by boat at three locations along the river.

Annual events that take place along the River Walk are the Mardi Gras Arts and Crafts show in mid-February along with the BUD LIGHT Mardi Gras River Parade, the Guinness Dyeing O' the River Green & St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Children's Festival and Ford Mariachi Festival the 3rd and 4th weeks in April, the Memorial Day Arts Crafts Show, July 4th Arts & Crafts Show, FORD Canoe Challenge in August, Labor Day Arts & Crafts, DOS EQUIS Pachanga Del Rio in mid-September, Fall Arts & Crafts Show in early October, and the FORD Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony following Thanksgiving.  Don't forget the annual Michelob Ultra River Walk Mud Festival in January that celebrates the draining and cleaning of Riverwalk with the crowning of a Mud-Queen and Mud-King - it doesn't take much to get a festival going in San Antonio!
